In 2004, Romeo composed an original score and sound design for a new play called Banana Boys (based on a book by Terry Woo, adapted by Leon Aureus, directed by Nina Aquino – fu-GEN Theatre Company), which earned him a Dora Award nomination under the Best Original Score/Sound Design category. In May of 2005, Romeo directed his first professional theatre production of The Romance of Magno Rubio, a play about five Filipino farm labourers in California in the 1930’s (Carlos Bulosan Theatre Company). He is now touring his second feature length film, Ang Pamana: The Inheritance, which he has written, directed, edited, and composed the main theme of the score. Most recently, Romeo went back to the stage to do the score and sound design for fu-GEN Theatre Company’s latest production Singkil which just had its run at the Factory Theatre in Toronto January 2007.
In between time, Romeo directs TV commercials in the Philippines to pay rent for his apartment in Toronto.
